Taylor Swift Returns to Chiefs Opener, Sits With Tom Cruise

Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 14 to support Travis Kelce as the Kansas City Chiefs opened their 2026 NFL season against the Denver Broncos.

Swift, 36, watched the game from a suite while wearing a red and white checkered top. PEOPLE reported that she was seen speaking with Cruise, 64, during the first quarter, with the actor among the guests who attended Swift and Kelce’s July 3 wedding.

The game marked another chapter in Swift’s association with the Chiefs after she first attended a Kansas City home game in September 2023.

Since then, she has regularly appeared at Kelce’s games and has brought members of her family and friends to several matchups. Her latest appearance also came during a notable season opener for Kansas City.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes returned to action after suffering season-ending ACL and LCL injuries in December 2025, while Kelce began his 14th NFL season after deciding to continue his career.

Swift’s decision to attend the Chiefs game meant she did not appear at the 78th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.

Her Disney+ concert special, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, had received five nominations, although it did not win in the Creative Arts Emmy categories decided Sept. 5.

Kelce previously described his July wedding to Swift as the best night of his life in an ESPN interview. Mahomes also recalled being excited to see the couple marry, describing the celebration as a special occasion.
