Joanna Gaines Celebrates Daughter Ella Rose’s 20th Birthday

Joanna Gaines celebrated daughter Ella Rose’s 20th birthday with a family gathering at home, sharing glimpses of the milestone celebration and a birthday cake on Instagram.

Joanna Gaines marked her daughter Ella Rose’s 20th birthday with a social media tribute featuring glimpses of the family celebration, including balloons shaped like the number 20 and a cake decorated with the word “Twenty.”

The Fixer Upper star shared the video on Instagram on Oct. 21, expressing her love for Ella and celebrating the milestone. The footage also included a childhood photograph of her daughter.

Ella is the second of Joanna and husband Chip Gaines’ five children. Her siblings are Drake, 21, Duke, 18, Emmie, 16, and Crew, 8.

The birthday celebration follows Joanna’s recent reflections on the emotional challenges of parenting children who leave home for college.

During a September appearance on Hoda Kotb’s Joy 101 podcast, Joanna discussed the guilt she experienced while balancing motherhood with building the couple’s Magnolia business.

She recalled driving Ella to the airport before her daughter left for college and feeling the urge to apologize for times she believed she had not been present enough during Ella’s childhood.

However, Ella responded by reminding her mother of the confidence and independence she had instilled in her.

“Mom, are you serious? All you’ve taught me is I can do anything and everything,” Joanna recalled Ella telling her.

Joanna also addressed the transition to college in an August Instagram post, offering encouragement to parents experiencing the emotions of watching their children leave home.

Her birthday tribute offers a glimpse of the family celebrating Ella as she enters her twenties.
