Blizzard Entertainment used its BlizzCon opening ceremony to unveil a new shooter set in the StarCraft universe, alongside major announcements for Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm.
StarCraft Returns With a Shooter
Blizzard showed only a brief teaser for the untitled shooter, featuring the rise and sudden fall of an elite soldier.
The project represents the first major StarCraft announcement since StarCraft 2’s Nova Covert Ops campaign pack.

Diablo 5 Announced
Blizzard also confirmed Diablo 5, with the story centered on the consequences of Diablo taking over the world. Developers framed the game around a central question: what must someone become to save a world that has already fallen?
The announcement arrives while Diablo 4 continues receiving new content. Blizzard plans to introduce the Amazon as a class pack next year, allowing players to explore the Skovos Isles. An animated Diablo series is also headed to Netflix.
World of Warcraft and Other Updates
World of Warcraft Forever will preserve the feel and level cap of vanilla WoW while adding three zones, revamped areas, 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, two raids and the Skyborne race.
Overwatch will introduce Doctrine, a vampire inspired support hero, alongside a new escort map. Sombra will move from damage to support, while Roadhog will receive a tank rework.
Hearthstone will launch Reign of the Black Empire and add the monk class in March. Meanwhile, Heroes of the Storm will receive Xal’atath as its first new hero in six years.
