Frankie Muniz opened up about a difficult six-week period on Instagram Friday, while his estranged wife, Paige Price, later shared a cryptic message centered on perspective.
Muniz, 40, said he had reached what he described as “rock bottom” and used the experience to examine parts of his life he believes need to change.
Rather than describing the period as an endpoint, the actor said he wants to treat it as a foundation for personal growth.
He also encouraged people experiencing their own difficult periods, saying that being in a low place does not mean someone is broken.
Muniz has shifted much of his professional focus toward motorsports since moving away from his earlier acting career.
Hours later, Price, 33, posted an Instagram Story containing the message: “Life is all about perspective.”
She followed it with an analogy involving grass, a zebra and a lion, without directly mentioning Muniz or explaining whether the post was connected to his comments.
The Story showed Price pouring black wax onto a white surface before placing a seal over it. The video was accompanied by an acoustic rendition of the Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 song “Iris.”
Muniz and Price announced their separation July 1 after a period they had kept private. In their joint statement, they said their relationship had evolved into a strong friendship and co-parenting partnership.
The couple share a son, Mauz. Before their separation became public, Muniz had also spoken about the difficulty of balancing racing, acting commitments and family life.
