2026 Emmy Awards Bring Star-Studded Red Carpet and Major TV Contenders

The 2026 Emmy Awards are underway with television stars arriving for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, alongside major nominations, reunions and special performances.

Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the Primetime Emmy ceremony is scheduled to air live on NBC and Peacock at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The evening combines the main awards with a red carpet featuring performers, actors and television personalities from across the industry.

The Pitt entered the night as the leading nominee with 25 total nods, while Hacks made history among comedy programs with 24 nominations for its final season.

The comedy category also includes Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking and Widow’s Bay.

Red Carpet Highlights

Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph, a 2022 Emmy winner, made her position clear while discussing the comedy race with E! News. Ralph said she believed Abbott Elementary was the only “real comedy” among this year’s nominees.

Lisa Ann Walter also arrived with longtime friend Elaine Hendrix. The pair described their contrasting personalities as part of how they manage disagreements, saying they tend to recognize their differences and move forward quickly.

Ciara Miller added a major fashion-history moment to the carpet by wearing a Marc Bouwer gown previously worn by Whitney Houston in the 1990s. Miller also revealed that she and Brandon Armstrong plan to perform to Houston’s “Exhale” on Dancing With the Stars.

The ceremony includes several anniversary reunions, with Charlie’s Angels and Buffy the Vampire Slayer represented in celebrations marking 50 and 30 years, respectively.

Michael J. Fox is scheduled to accept the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award. Meanwhile, Noah Kahan is set to perform “Bridge Over Troubled Water” during the In Memoriam segment, which will honor figures lost during the year.

Emmy Winners Already Announced

The Creative Arts Emmys had already handed out technical and selected acting awards before the main ceremony.

The Pitt’s Ernest Harden Jr., Widow’s Bay’s Betty Gilpin, and DTF St. Louis performers Linda Cardellini and David Harbour were among the early winners. Netflix’s Remarkably Bright Creatures also won Outstanding Television Movie.

The Slow Horses cast reunited at the Emmys ahead of the series’ sixth season. The show has nine nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and acting recognition for Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden and Jonathan Pryce.
