Ray LaMontagne collapsed during his Saturday performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and was treated by local EMS for heat related dehydration.
LaMontagne, 53, was performing at the Ryman Auditorium as part of his Trouble 20th Anniversary Tour when he suddenly fell backward during the set.
Fan-recorded footage showed members of his team immediately moving toward him as the audience reacted.
Music Times also reported that LaMontagne had earlier stopped twice while performing “Hannah,” appearing to lose his place before continuing.
A fan who posted footage described the performance as unusually concerning. LaMontagne’s team later said on Instagram Stories that local EMS was treating him for heat-related dehydration and that he was doing well.

Consequence reported that the singer remained grateful for the audience’s understanding and intended to perform in Louisville. He subsequently appeared at Louisville Palace on Sunday as scheduled, according to fan setlists.
The incident occurred during LaMontagne’s tour celebrating 20 years of his debut album, Trouble. The tour began Aug. 23 in Salt Lake City and is scheduled to conclude Oct. 3 after three performances at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.
LaMontagne has released nine studio albums. His 2010 album God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise earned him the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2011.
