Savannah Guthrie said she was deeply touched after Allison Janney used her Emmy-winning moment to acknowledge the disappearance of Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.
Speaking on TODAY on Sept. 15, Savannah thanked Janney for remembering her family during what was otherwise a major career milestone for the actress.
Janney had won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 2026 Emmy Awards for her role as President Grace Penn in Netflix’s “The Diplomat.”
Backstage after the ceremony, Janney said she thinks about Nancy and the Guthrie family every day. She also said she believes many Americans have been thinking about what the family is experiencing.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing after being abducted from her home near Tucson, Arizona, during the early hours of Feb. 1.
According to the information provided, the investigation remains ongoing, with no major breakthrough reported in the months since her disappearance.
Savannah has continued publicly appealing for information about her mother. She said her siblings and extended family remain in pain and renewed their request for anyone with information to contact authorities.
The FBI is asking people with relevant information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI. Savannah and her family have also announced a $1 million reward connected to Nancy’s return.
