George and Amal Clooney Step Out With Twins at Rare Charity Event

George and Amal Clooney turned a charity event in Italy into an uncommon family outing when they arrived with their twins, Ella and Alexander, at Villa Passalacqua in Lake Como.

According to reports, the family attended a benefit dinner for the Clooney Foundation for Justice. The event took place on Aug. 10, while other coverage reported the family was seen on a boat on Lake Como on Aug. 12.

George, 65, wore a gray suit and white shirt, while Amal, 48, appeared in a black floral gown with gold tassel earrings and a red beaded purse. Ella wore a layered gold dress, and Alexander wore a tan blazer.

The appearance was notable because George and Amal have generally kept their children away from public attention since welcoming them in 2017.

George and Amal married in September 2014 after meeting in 2013 and beginning their relationship later that year. They welcomed Ella and Alexander three years after their wedding.

The couple also co-founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice in 2016. According to information included in the supplied reports, the organization provides free legal aid supporting free speech and women’s rights in more than 40 countries.

Family Life Away From Hollywood

George previously discussed his approach to raising the twins away from the intense celebrity culture of Los Angeles.

In an October 2025 interview with Esquire, he said the family lives on a farm in France and described the environment as giving his children a different childhood.

He also said his son Alexander resembles him strongly at the same age. In comments reported by PEOPLE in 2025, George said photographs of himself at age 8 could easily be mistaken for pictures of his son.

Amal has likewise spoken about how marriage and family changed the way she viewed public exposure.

Speaking at a Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok in June, she said she had learned not to let concerns about appearances prevent her from doing things important to her family and relationship.

The Lake Como appearance offers a rare glimpse of the Clooney family together while highlighting the couple’s long standing effort to give their children a life largely removed from Hollywood’s spotlight.
