Christy Knowings, who became known for her work on Nickelodeon’s popular sketch comedy series “All That,” has died at age 46. TMZ first reported her death, while Knowings’ manager confirmed it to Variety.
Knowings’ aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced the death Wednesday in a Facebook post. She described Knowings as an actress, comedian, daughter and twin sister, and remembered her as an outstanding person.
A cause of death was not independently disclosed in the announcement. According to TMZ, family sources said Knowings suffered an asthma attack on Aug. 7 and was hospitalized in the Los Angeles area.
The family said the attack resulted in brain damage, after which she was placed on life support. Relatives decided to remove her from life support Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Her ‘All That’ Career
Knowings joined “All That” in 1997 after appearing in a Nickelodeon sketch-comedy pilot called “And Now This.” She remained with the series for three seasons and appeared in more than 30 episodes.
The program was an important launching point for several performers who later became widely recognized, including Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon.
Its success also produced spinoffs such as “Kenan & Kel,” “The Amanda Show” and “The Nick Cannon Show.”

Her final reported “All That” appearance came in 1999, while her most recent listed acting credits were connected to “Sesame Street,” spanning appearances from 2009 to 2011.
Kenan Thompson, who worked with Knowings on “All That,” publicly remembered his former co-star following news of her death.
In an Instagram tribute, Thompson expressed shock over the loss and sent his love to Knowings’ family.
He also described her as a genuine person and praised her sense of humor, remembering her as one of the funniest people he knew.
The tribute underscored Knowings’ connection to the original generation of performers who helped make “All That” a defining Nickelodeon comedy series of the 1990s. Knowings is the second former “All That” cast member reported to have died in 2026.
Kianna Underwood, who appeared on the Nickelodeon series as a child, died in January at age 33 after being struck in a hit and run incident in Brooklyn, according to the New York Police Department information reported by PEOPLE.
Underwood’s death and Knowings’ passing mark separate losses involving performers connected to the long running sketch series, which originally premiered in 1994 and concluded its initial run in 2005.
