Charlize Theron Stuns in Sheer Black Dress at Academy Museum Gala

Charlize Theron turned heads at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17, wearing a sheer black Tom Ford gown and a slicked back bob with distinctive side bangs.

Charlize Theron brought dramatic fashion to the Academy Museum Gala with a black gown featuring geometric embellishments, intricate beadwork and a translucent skirt.

The sleeveless design combined a structured bodice with diamond patterned mesh panels, while black strappy heels completed the look.

Her accessories added a striking finish. Theron wore Boucheron jewelry, including bold arrow-shaped earrings and multiple silver rings, complementing the gown’s architectural details.

The actress also drew attention with her hairstyle. She wore her bob slicked back, allowing short, fan-shaped bangs to frame one side of her forehead.

Theron first revealed the fringe in July, crediting hairstylist Adir Abergel in an Instagram post. Beyond the red carpet, the evening recognized Theron’s career with the Icon Award.

Reflecting on the honor, she said she felt grateful and emphasized that her love of acting helped her remain focused on the work rather than audience expectations.

The recognition followed a busy year for the actress, who starred in The Odyssey and Netflix’s climbing thriller Apex.

Her gala appearance combined a major career milestone with a fashion statement built around sheer fabric, geometric detailing and bold accessories.
