Frozen 3 Reveals Anna’s Wedding and a Mysterious New Villain

Disney has revealed major new details about Frozen 3, including Anna and Kristoff’s wedding, a mysterious new threat and Olaf’s unexpected love interest.

Disney Animation unveiled new footage and details about Frozen 3 during its D23 entertainment showcase, giving fans their first substantial look at the next chapter in the $2.76 billion-grossing franchise.

Kristen Bell confirmed that Anna will marry Kristoff in the upcoming film. The wedding will also bring Elsa into the story as the sisters encounter a new mystery beyond their familiar world of Arendelle.

The footage shown at the event featured Anna and Kristoff discovering Elsa studying a mysterious stone near a dock. The object appears to create a portal leading to a dangerous, snowy dimension.

According to Idina Menzel, this new frozen land is more mysterious and dangerous than anything Elsa has previously created.  The portal also introduces a previously unseen female character.

The footage reportedly showed a woman with short black hair and a dark cape, while her face remained hidden. Her abilities appear capable of rivaling Elsa’s powers.

New Music and Olaf’s Romance

The original voice cast returns, including Bell as Anna, Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Josh Gad as Olaf.

Bell and Menzel performed a new version of “Frozen Heart,” while Gad introduced “Ooooh, Samantha,” a song about Olaf’s first crush.

Both songs were written by Academy Award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The first Frozen opened in 2013 and earned $1.3 billion worldwide, while Frozen 2 reached $1.45 billion. Disney has also confirmed that a fourth Frozen film is in development.

Directed by Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy and produced by Christina Chen, Frozen 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on November 24, 2027. The film is expected to reach Disney+ in early 2028.
