Actress Selma Blair faces two assault charges following an October 11 flight incident, with her attorney arguing that a missed medication schedule contributed to her confusion and disorientation.
Selma Blair is facing two assault charges following an incident that began aboard a flight from Los Angeles to New York on October 11, according to CNN and Page Six.
During her October 12 arraignment in Queens, prosecutors alleged that Blair kicked a Port Authority officer in the head and chest while the officer was attempting to place her on a stretcher before she was taken to an ambulance.
The criminal complaint also alleges that she kicked a nurse at a hospital several hours later. Blair did not enter a plea during the court appearance, CNN reported.

Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, disputed the suggestion that the alleged conduct was intentional. He told the court that Blair had missed several doses of medication used to control severe neurological symptoms.
Barnes also reportedly said Blair had hit her head and spent extensive hours working on set before the flight. He argued that these circumstances, combined with the effects of altitude, resulted in severe confusion and disorientation.
Blair publicly disclosed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2018. The circumstances surrounding the flight also drew attention after CNN reported obtaining audio dispatch recordings from ATC.com.
The recordings allegedly described a flight attendant with a bloody nose and bite marks. They also indicated that a passenger may have struck her head against the aircraft’s bulkhead.

Delta Air Lines said it has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, emphasizing that the safety of passengers and crew comes first.
Blair’s bail was set at $20,000, and she is expected to be released from custody on bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
The allegations have not been established as proven facts, and Blair’s attorney maintains that the incident was not intentional.
