Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, are mourning their 13-year-old daughter Fiona Hepler Lowe, with the family confirming her death and asking for privacy.
The family announced Fiona’s death in a statement shared with PEOPLE, remembering her as a deeply loved daughter and sister. They said she was “the light of our lives” and asked for prayers and privacy while they grieve.
Fiona was born in November 2012 and celebrated her 13th birthday last year. Chad Lowe marked the occasion publicly, encouraging his daughter to keep dancing through life.
She was the middle child of the couple’s three daughters. Mabel, their eldest, was born in 2009, while Nixie, the youngest, was born in 2016.
Lowe, 58, is known for his acting work, including the television series “Life Goes On” and “Pretty Little Liars.” He is also the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe.
The family had previously faced the loss of their Pacific Palisades home during the January 2025 wildfire.
After the disaster, Chad shared a photograph of his daughters returning to see what remained of the property and praised their resilience.
The family has not publicly provided a cause of death. Because that information has not been confirmed, no conclusion about the circumstances surrounding Fiona’s passing can be drawn from the family’s statement.
