Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have married in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, nearly a decade after they began their relationship.
The couple’s civil ceremony took place in Cascais, a coastal town west of Lisbon, according to the public relations team representing Ronaldo. The ceremony was described as a private and intimate occasion attended by their five children.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez announced the marriage on Instagram with a photograph of their hands wearing matching wedding bands and the caption “C❤️G.”
The pair met in Madrid in 2016, when Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store during Ronaldo’s Real Madrid years.
Their relationship later developed into a family life that includes five children. They also experienced the loss of their newborn son in 2022.
Rodríguez announced their engagement in August 2025, sharing a photograph of a large diamond ring.
Ronaldo had previously said in an interview with Piers Morgan that they planned to marry after the World Cup.
Ronaldo, 41, recently appeared at his sixth World Cup for Portugal, tying the record for most appearances in the men’s tournament. He also became the first player to score at six different World Cups.
Ronaldo’s club, Al Nassr, is scheduled to begin its domestic season Saturday. The marriage therefore comes shortly before the start of another Saudi Pro League campaign for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
